Crusaders Of Space: Open Range 1.1

Open Range is another release form the Crusaders of Space shoot’em up series offered by Alawar Entertainment. This is an fun computer game that works (or should work) just fine with any Windows version. In the game you control a spaceship and you have to battle incoming wave of enemies. It is like the classic Space Invaders game, but with a modern twist – modern graphics, modern weapons, and so on.

Every game has to have a story behind it. Here’s the story behind this one:
“An abstract from an official intelligence report: Our satellites have located as many as fifty alien interceptors rapidly approaching planet Earth. Detailed analysis of the digital image data revealed a larger object as well. Without a doubt, it's the Big Brain, thought to be killed 5 years ago. Looks like we should start a search for a new hero right now!”

It is up to you to become the hero that will save Earth from the invaders. It is up to you to prevent Earth from being enslaved by the aliens. Because, you know, if they were peace-loving aliens who came here to learn more about us, then the game wouldn’t be any fun, now would it?

You can try out the game free of charge for 60 minutes – this is standard with all the games Alawar Entertainment has to offer. By letting you play for free for an hour, Alawar Entertainment lets you figure out if you want to part with your money and get a license to keep playing once the 60 minutes trial is over.

Another thing that seems to be standard with Alawar Entertainment is bundling its games with “extras”. During the installation process you will be asked to change your default search provider, you will be asked if you want to change your homepage, and you will be asked if you want to install Game Box (contains Alawar Entertainment’s catalog of games). If you don’t want to change your homepage or search engine, or if you don’t want to install the Game Box, make sure to opt out.
